OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

CONTEST OVERVIEW

The Shelter To Soldier Dog Photo Contest is a fundraising event to help support Shelter To Soldier efforts as they continue their efforts of Saving Lives, Two At A Time™. By submitting a photo of your dog(s) into the Shelter To Soldier Dog Photo Contest (the “Contest”), you are entering a voting contest to win the Grand Prize: a complimentary professional photo shoot for your dog with a free digital photo for social media sharing, and a feature in the 2025 Shelter To Soldier Dog Calendar. There will be thirteen Grand Prize winners. The winningest photo entry shall receive the coveted calendar cover. The following top twelve winners shall receive a feature as dog(s) of the month.

GRAND PRIZE

• Thirteen grand prize winners* shall have their winning dog(s) featured in the 2025 Shelter To Soldier Dog Calendar.

• Thirteen grand prize winners* will have their dog(s) professionally photographed for the 2025 Shelter To Soldier Dog Calendar and receive a 5x7 print of that photograph compliments of Keala Stevens Photography.

• All winners will have the opportunity to purchase products and images following their session if desired.

*If your dog(s) is one of the thirteen Grand Prize winners, you must be able to bring the winning dog(s) to one of the pre-selected locations in the Greater San Diego area (San Diego and North County San Diego) on pre-selected days from June through July 2024. If you cannot commit to any of the offered photo shoots at the designated place and time, you forfeit all winnings, and the next top vote recipient will assume your position with no exceptions.

WEEKLY MINI-CONTEST PRIZE

• Each week, the photo entry that receives the highest number of new votes will win a prize in goods or services from a participating local business. In the event of a tie for that week's most votes or if there are no new votes, a random computerized drawing will be held to determine the winner.

• Prizes for the weekly mini-contest may include requirements, restrictions, and, or limitations as determined by each participating business. Keala Stevens Photography is not responsible for these business requirements. 

PHOTO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• Photo entries require a non-refundable $5.00 donation fee.

• Photo entries shall contain dogs only, please. Photos with people will not be accepted.

• A photo entry is for 1 to 2 dogs per photo.

• A winning photo entry of 2 dogs will be featured together in the same month.

• Only one photo entry of the same dog will be accepted.

• Submit your digital photo entries through the online contest platform that opens on April 22, 2024, at 7:00 AM PDT. Physical photos are not accepted.

• Photo entries that are copyrighted or professionally photographed are not eligible.

• Photo entries with content deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by Keala Stevens Photography at its sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.

• Photo entries that do not meet all the requirements are ineligible.

• The $5.00 donation fee for an ineligible photo entry is non-refundable.

• The submission period to submit a photo entry starts in April. Further details will be announced here and on social media in the coming days.

• The $5.00 photo entry donation fee is tax deductible. The email acknowledgment of your online donation serves as your tax receipt.

• Posting more than one photo entry of the same dog is not accepted and does not increase the chances of winning.

• ALL DONATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

VOTING

• Contest winners are determined by the most votes cast. 

• To cast votes, voters make non-refundable donations to Shelter To Soldier through the online contest platform.

• The Contest only accepts donations through the online contest platform, a secure site managed by GoGo Photo Contest.

• The minimum donation to vote is $5.00 for five individual votes.

• Votes are tax deductible. The email acknowledgment of your online donation serves as your tax receipt.

• Electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of GoGo Photo Contest calculate the number of votes cast. All decisions are final and binding

• The Voting Period starts on April 22, 2024, at 7:00 am PDT and ends on May 26, 2024, at 9:00 p.m. PDT.

• ALL DONATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

CALENDAR PHOTOSHOOT

• Thirteen Grand Prize winners will receive a professional on-location photo shoot compliments of Keala Stevens Photography at a pre-selected location in the Greater San Diego area (San Diego and North County San Diego) on a pre-selected day from June 2024 through July 2024. If you cannot commit to any of the offered photo shoots at the designated place and time, you forfeit all winnings, and the next top vote recipient will assume your position with no exceptions.

• The photographer, Keala Stevens Photography, selects the best image of each dog(s) featured in the 2025 calendar and the month in which the image appears.

WEEKLY MINI-CONTESTS

• The photo entry receiving the most new votes each week throughout the five-week contest shall win a mini-contest prize from one of the participating local businesses.

• Each photo entry may win only one weekly mini-contest prize.

• In the event of a tie for the most net new votes, a tie-breaking random computerized drawing will be held to determine the winning photo entry for the week.

• If there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized drawing will be held for all eligible photo entries.

• Prizes for the weekly mini-contest may include requirements, restrictions, or limitations determined by each participating business. Keala Stevens Photography is not responsible for these business requirements.

RESERVE A SPOT TO HONOR YOUR DOG

• Want a guaranteed spot in the calendar?  Reserve a spot on your month of choice, and your dog’s photo will be placed in the space before the 1st day of the month or after the last day of the month. Just choose your favorite photo and month, and pay!

• A Reserve a Spot To Honor Your Dog entry does not enter your dog into the photo contest.

• Photo submissions shall contain dogs only, please. Photos with people will not be accepted.

• Photo submissions shall contain no more than two dogs so that the image prints well in the space allowed.

• PROFESSIONALLY PHOTOGRAPHED IMAGES OF DOGS ARE WELCOME!

• Photo submissions with content deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by Keala Stevens Photography at its sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.

• Each month has limited space and will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

• Each space reserved is $10.00.

• The $10.00 Reserve A Spot To Honor Your Pet donation fee is tax deductible. The email acknowledgment of your online donation serves as your tax receipt.

• The submission period for your spot to Honor Your Dog starts on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 7:00 a.m. and closes in August 2024.

• ALL DONATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

THE FINE PRINT

• By submitting a photo entry for the photo contest, you warrant and represent that your entry is your original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit a copyrighted photo, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.

• Calendars will be available to the general public starting in August 2024.

• By participating in the Contest, you agree to release and hold harmless Shelter To Soldier and Keala Stevens Photography and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
